Jabez is a Third Culture Kid (TCK) who was born in Singapore, raised in Canada, studied and worked in the United States and is now serving in Thailand. He is ethnically Chinese and has worked with clients that have wrestled with depression, anxiety, sexual identity concerns, cross-cultural adjustment and addictions, amongst many issues.
Jabez graduated with honors from the University of Pennsylvania and worked for several years in the financial services industry after college. During his time in New York City, Jabez experienced a life-changing shift in his understanding of God through the Emotionally Healthy Spirituality course. This shift led him to seek counseling for his own lived experience of trauma and to eventually pursue a career change into counseling. Jabez then graduated with honors with his Masters of Arts in Counseling from Missio Seminary in 2022 and is currently a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in the state of Pennsylvania.
Jabez has a person-centered approach and his preferred methods of counseling include cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and emotionally focused therapy (EFT). He is happily married to his wonderful wife River and they have 2 beautiful daughters, Hosanna and Eden. In his free time, Jabez loves to read, play board games, try new places to eat and cheer on his favorite sports teams who are often underdogs (i.e. the Eagles, Cubs, Canucks and Timberwolves).
