Being present in moments of crisis and acute need

Would you help us provide immediate and comprehensive support in moments of sudden and overwhelming crisis?

From time to time, missionaries and cross-cultural workers face sudden and overwhelming crises—unexpected loss, trauma, abuse, medical emergencies, evacuation, or ministry-related incidents that shake their sense of safety, faith, and calling. In these moments, timely, skilled, and compassionate care can make the difference between long-term harm and meaningful healing.

The Well is often contacted when crisis strikes, yet our ability to respond quickly is frequently limited by available funding. Travel costs, emergency accommodation, intensive counselling, and staff time are not expenses that can be planned for far in advance—but they are essential when trauma occurs.

The Trauma Response Fund will allow The Well to be flexible and responsive, enabling our team to show up when and where we are most needed. This includes providing immediate counselling support, crisis debriefing, short-term intensive care, and on-site presence when appropriate. It also allows us to absorb emergency costs so that financial pressure does not delay or prevent care.

Your giving to this fund ensures that missionaries and Christian workers are not left to navigate crisis alone. It allows us to respond with speed, wisdom, and compassion—offering stabilising care in moments when everything feels uncertain.
