Amy Newsome

CLINICAL COUNSELLOR
M.A. Counselling

Amy spent her childhood moving frequently with her father’s job assignments, and later realized what good preparation that had been for a call to the mission field. She moved with her husband and newborn daughter to Japan in 1990, and began a 30+ year journey of kingdom work in Japan.

As she encountered the hurts, struggles, and problems people carried, she began to dream of how training in counseling could be used to bring Gospel hope to people in those painful and broken parts of their stories. Once her five kids were in high school and college, she returned to school, graduating with a Master of Counseling from Colorado Christian University.

Amy has combined her personal life experience as a missionary with the professional skills of a counselor. She always feels privileged to to come alongside others in their life struggles. Amy brings into her work a great deal of hope in God’s promise to restore and redeem and she is always curious and expectant about how that will unfold.
