B.S. SOCIAL WORK
MASTER OF SOCIAL WORK
Amanda first discovered her passion for mental health while at Indiana University, where she studied Social Work. Immediately after graduation, she moved across the world to Chiang Mai, Thailand. Amanda spent four years as a counsellor at a children’s home providing counselling for orphans and victims of trafficking. During this time Amanda also studied to obtain her Master of Social Work from the University of Southern California.
After their time in Chiang Mai, Amanda and her family moved to Bangkok, Thailand. While there, Amanda provided counselling to children of refugees and asylum seekers, who were living in the Immigration Detention Center. Through their program, children were released and placed into foster homes, where they were able to receive tutoring, counselling, and medical care.
Amanda desires to come alongside children and teens as they struggle through difficulties in their lives, and help them to experience freedom. She also has a heart to see families who are serving cross-culturally thrive.
