More About Our Services...
Christian Spiritual Direction seeks to nurture our relationship with God by helping us understand and acknowledge His presence in our daily lives. It is an opportunity to have a spiritual conversation with our Pastoral Care team about your experience, understanding and relationship with Christ, while also discerning His presence and leading in your life.
A spiritual direction conversation can be about any aspect of life, even those that aren’t normally considered ‘spiritual’. It is a space to share challenges and losses, while also celebrating joys and accomplishments, all with the hope of restoring, exploring and deepening our experience of God.
If you are looking for understanding, encouragement and affirmation in your walk with Christ, then a member of our Pastoral Care team would be happy to meet with you.

Inner Healing Prayer
The challenges of cross-cultural ministry can often cause us to lose connection and fall out of touch in our relationship with God. This disconnection causes internal stress, which often manifests itself externally by negatively affecting our relationships and ministry. Inner Healing Prayer is a directive, healing-focused approach to this problem, and seeks to resolve one central question: "What is stopping us from hearing from God and how do we hear Him?"
Inner Healing Prayer seeks to renew, restore and reconnect us in our relationship with God.
Steps to Freedom in Christ
The Steps to Freedom is a tool to help people resolve personal and spiritual issues that are hindering their walk of faith and the keeping them from enjoying connection with God. It can be useful in overcoming negative thought patterns, strongholds of sinful behaviour, as well as lies and deceptions in the belief system.
The seven steps are based on the belief that believers in Christ are not just a product of their past, but are primarily a product of the work of Christ on the cross. The goal is not to simply understand our past and to live with it, but to truly be free from it.
Recognizing that there is a kingdom of darkness and a kingdom of light and that “our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the powers, against the world forces of darkness, against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places,” (Eph. 6:12) the Steps address seven areas where the Bible says that Satan can gain access to our lives. In the session, we call on the Holy Spirit who is “the Spirit of Truth” (John 14:17) to lead us into all truth (John 16;13) knowing that the truth will set us free (John 8:32). It is the individual’s responsibility to believe the truth, to take authority over their own minds and the thoughts that enter, as well as to confess any issues of sin and unbelief. An individual’s freedom is not the result of what the encourager prays but what the ministry recipient believes and prays.
The actual session begins with a time where the encourage hears the recipients story and then together they enter a quiet time of prayer where the ministry recipient asks God if, throughout the course of their whole life are there any issues holding them back. He of course shows them, and they respond in repentance. Each step has written prayers that are scriptural and well thought out for the specific things beings addressed at that time. There are lists for the recipient to tick of. The recipient keeps the booklet, and can use if for further growth. A single session will take 4 to 6 hours.

The Healing Timeline uses real memories from a client’s life time to prove to the brain that a trauma or difficult experience is over. It is based on current brain research, which supports the concept that new brain pathways can be created,to alter the way a memory is stored.
The healing timeline works well with Biblical Counselling, Spiritual Direction, and various forms of healing prayer ministry. To implement The Healing Timeline the spirit and image of Christ is invited into earlier memories. A counsellor/facilitator then leads the client into a timeline of his or her life composed of real memories from their lifetime. The repetitions of the timeline prove to the client that their hurtful experience is over.
It is hypothesized that repetitions of the timeline create lasting, neural change in the brain. By combining a timeline with inner healing prayer, the outcomes are exponentially greater than Christian talk therapy or inner healing alone. The method enables clients to really understand, on a mental and emotional level, that their old traumas and hurts are over. These changes appear to be permanent.
This tools helps people to connect to the truth about God and themselves in a real way, and expedites the cumulative effect of prayer ministry. The results are lasting and bring a deep sense of internal well-being.
The Immanuel Approach
The Immanuel approach to Prayer Ministry is focused on a connection with the living Lord Jesus, who is Immanuel, God with us. It shifts the focus from resolving trauma, and relieving symptoms, to having an intimate connection with God through Jesus Christ.
In the session the facilitator helps the recipient to remove any barriers in his/her heart, which hinders that intimate connection. Once the hindrances have been removed, the resolution of psychological trauma and associated symptom relief comes as a result of the intimate connection.
The session starts with recall of positive memories, and deliberate appreciation, to prepare our brain-mind-spirit for connecting with the Lord; and then establishes a living, interactive connection with Jesus as the foundation for the session.
The Immanuel Prayer is organized around turning to Jesus, focusing on Him, and engaging directly with Jesus at every point in the session. It recognizes that healing of trauma is only one aspect of God’s work in a person’s life. For example, the Lord also wants to build our capacity,
grow our maturity, and spent time just being with us as a friend.
Immanuel Prayer equips the recipient with tools that help to connect with the Lord outside of the special sessions, with the goal of getting to a place where we perceive the Lord’s presence, and abide in interactive connection with Jesus, as our usual, normal, condition as we walk through life. The Immanuel Approach identifies the primary objective, the most important priority, as intimacy with God.
"Theophostic Prayer is intentional, focused prayer leading to an authentic encounter with the presence of Christ, resulting in mind renewal and a subsequently transformed life,” says Ed Smith, who developed the model. The term “Theophostic” is derived from two New Testament Greek words: "Theos" (God) and and "phos" (light). The combined words denote God’s power to illuminate the darkened areas of people’s minds. The "phos" is God’s true light, the Spirit of Christ or the Holy Spirit (John 1:4), who brings divine truth into people’s lie-based thinking, causing renewal of the mind.
What happens in a correctly facilitated Theophostic Prayer Ministry session is biblically founded and Christ-centered in all respects. The prayer minister is not the dispenser of truth in the session, but the Holy Spirit speaks directly to the recipient. Cognitive approaches to educating and instructing are put aside, and both the prayer minister/counsellor and the recipient/client enter into prayer. We expect that during the TPM session the Holy Spirit will deliver personalized truth directly into the memory of the recipient. During the actual ministry time, when the goal is to lead the person to personally encounter Jesus Christ, the facilitator/counsellor is careful to stay out of the way and allow the Lord to do this connecting.
Theophostic Prayer Ministry is based on the principle that often the internal stress of life, and the pain we feel in a given circumstance are intensified through unresolved pain stored in our memories. The role of the prayer minister is to gently guide the recipient to the place where they are able to hear and receive truth from the Lord.
The aim of each session is for the person receiving ministry to encounter Jesus. Four primary conditions are needed to release lie-based thinking and emotional pain it causes and bring the presence of peace. The purpose of these conditions is not an attempt to force God into a formula. God is not manipulated by any human being. These conditions simply help us align ourselves with Him and fulfill His conditions.
When lies in people’s thinking are replaced with His truth, the result is an immediate and radical change. Mind renewal means inward and outward transformation. People report peace where there was pain, followed by natural, effortless behaviour change. If the person has an authentic encounter with God, there should be noticeable difference. Some people find that one session touches their core pain to the point that they feel unstuck and able to move forward. For most however, there is more than one memory container holding unresolved pain. In those cases, multiple sessions can be helpful and the effect is cumulative.
