Narrative Therapy is an artful and deeply respectful approach to helping individuals, couples and families that allows people to gain distance from and greater agency in their problems. Its concern with culture and formation of identity in relationships makes it really well suited to cross-cultural work and adapting to new contexts. It also allows for a lot of creativity, play and unexpected "turns of events" in therapy even when working with adults.
Part 1 introduced you to the approach as a whole and two of the core practices, “Externalizing" and "Re-authoring".
Part 2 will explore more of the theoretical basis and two additional core practices, “Re-membering” and “Definitional Ceremonies”. Both trainings will be focused on practice and application to real therapeutic situations.
This training is designed for professional therapists or students.
